About Hyventur
Hyventur is a payment processing company built on automation, modern technology, and customer service that is second to none. We build the payment platform collections and receivables teams use to get paid: consumer portals, payment plans, text-to-pay, IVR, and the reporting behind them. Our goal is simple: make paying easy, so more payments get made.
The role
As our Chief Operating Officer, you'll report to the CEO and run Hyventur day to day. Our clients are collection law firms, agencies, debt buyers, healthcare providers, utilities, and associations, and every one of them trusts us with how they get paid. You'll make sure that trust is earned on every payment, every onboarding, and every support call.
You'll own the operating side of the business, from the day a client signs to the day their consumers are paying through their portal and long after. You'll build the team, the processes, and the measures that let us grow without losing the service that sets us apart.
This is an executive role at a company that is still building. You'll set strategy with the CEO and shareholders, and you'll also be close enough to the work to fix what's broken yourself.
What you'll do
- Run day-to-day operations across payment processing, client onboarding, implementation, and customer support
- Own the client journey from signed agreement to go-live: agreements and documents, portal setup and approval, system integrations, training, and the first weeks live
- Oversee payment operations with our processing and banking partners, including funding, reconciliation, client trust-account deposits, returns, chargebacks, and check processing
- Build compliance into how we operate, with PCI DSS, Nacha rules, Regulation E authorizations, and the contact rules our clients work under (Regulation F, TCPA, and the FDCPA)
- Support clients' security and compliance reviews, vendor due diligence, and audits
- Set and hold service standards that are second to none, with clear response times and quality measures
- Find manual work and automate it, working with product and engineering to turn what we learn from clients into the platform
- Build, hire, and lead the operations team, and develop the people on it
- Set the operating rhythm: goals, KPIs, dashboards, budgets, and forecasts, reported to the CEO and shareholders
- Manage key vendor and partner relationships, including processors, banks, and communications providers
- Own operational risk, including fraud controls, incident response, and business continuity
- Partner with sales on enterprise opportunities, from operational reviews to implementation plans
What you bring
- Senior operations leadership experience as a COO, VP of Operations, or in a comparable role
- Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or B2B software
- A record of scaling operations and teams through a period of growth, with measurable results
- Working knowledge of card and ACH payment operations: settlement, reconciliation, returns, and chargebacks
- Experience operating in a regulated environment and working with compliance, legal, and auditors
- A data-driven approach to setting goals, measuring performance, and making decisions
- A strong customer service orientation and the judgment to protect it as the company grows
- Clear communication with executives, clients, partners, and the team
- A hands-on, builder's mindset and comfort with the pace and ambiguity of a growing company
Nice to have
- Experience in collections or accounts receivable management, or in healthcare, utility, or association billing
- Familiarity with Regulation F, the FDCPA, and the TCPA
- Experience leading PCI DSS or SOC 2 audits
- Experience with collection platforms, CRM, and workflow tools (HubSpot or similar), and the integrations between them
- Experience working with payment processors and sponsor banks
